Walid Ben Arfa: A Passion for Life in Front of the Camera

Walid Ben Arfa’s journey in front of the camera began with his participation in a Dutch Tv program, what started as a new and exciting experience soon made him realise something important: he truly loved being in front of the camera.

From that moment on, acting became more than simply trying something new. It became a passion. Since then, Walid has continued to build his experience across television and film. He can occasionally be seen in the popular Dutch television series GTST (Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden), and he took on the role of Walid Ben Arfa in season 3 of the crime series SLEEPERS. His growing list of credits also includes appearances in children’s films such as Rutger, Thomas & Paco and Superjuffie in de Jungle.

What makes acting so enjoyable for Walid is his willingness to completely surrender himself to a role. There is little room for embarrassment or hesitation once the cameras begin to roll. Whatever a scene requires, he is prepared to give it his full commitment.

For him, the moment he hears “action”, everything else disappears. He switches off his everyday thoughts, steps into character and focuses entirely on the performance. That enthusiasm also extends beyond the actual acting. Early mornings, late nights or long journeys to a filming location do not discourage him. No call time is too early, no shoot is too late and no filming location feels too far away. If there is a camera, a role and a story to tell, Walid is happy to be there.

Drama, comedy, television, film or children’s productions he enjoys the variety that acting offers. Every set is different, every character presents a new challenge and every production gives him another opportunity to develop his craft.

For Walid Ben Arfa, acting is not simply about appearing on screen. It is about becoming part of a story, stepping into another character and giving everything the moment the camera starts rolling. And for him, there is nothing he would rather be doing.
