The worlds of contemporary art and cultural fashion are set to converge in a landmark event as Avant-Garde Artisan and the Africa Fashion Museum announce their collaborative exhibition, Amsterdam Art Fair Under the Tropics, scheduled for Saturday, 27 June 2026 at the prestigious Rhône Events & Congrescentrum in Amsterdam.

This unique partnership brings together two organizations committed to celebrating creativity, innovation, and cultural diversity. By merging Avant-Garde Artisan’s platform for emerging artists and makers with the Africa Fashion Museum’s dedication to preserving and promoting African fashion heritage, the event aims to create a vibrant space where artistic disciplines intersect and inspire.

A Celebration of Art, Fashion, and Culture

The theme, “Under the Tropics,” will transform the Edessa Hall into an immersive cultural oasis, showcasing an eclectic mix of visual art, fashion, jewelry, and wearable design. Visitors will experience curated exhibitions featuring painters, sculptors, jewelry designers, and fashion creators whose work reflects innovation, identity, and contemporary storytelling.

The event will also feature live artistic demonstrations, fashion presentations, and interactive workshops designed to engage audiences and encourage dialogue between artists, designers, collectors, and cultural enthusiasts.

According to Claudine Morsen, Founder of Avant-Garde Artisan, the collaboration represents a natural evolution of both organizations’ shared mission to create inclusive platforms for diverse artistic voices.

“This collaboration is a natural evolution of our shared mission to create spaces where diverse artistic expressions can flourish. By bringing together our communities, we are creating a vibrant ecosystem where art meets fashion under a tropical canopy of inspiration.”

Representatives from the Africa Fashion Museum echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the powerful relationship between fashion and artistic expression, and the opportunity to highlight designers who blend craftsmanship, culture, and innovation.
