Dimitrios Kannavos: Journalism as a Mission of Responsibility and Global Engagement

Dimitrios Kannavos is an active journalist with a focus on international relations, investigative reporting, humanitarian action, and civil protection. His work is driven by the firm belief that journalism is not merely a profession, but a mission rooted in responsibility, integrity, and meaningful social contribution.

Since 2007, he has been actively involved in volunteerism, an experience that has significantly shaped both his personal values and professional perspective. Through this long-standing commitment, he emphasizes the role of journalism in serving society promoting transparency, accountability, and respect for human dignity.

He serves as a Member of the Audit Committee of the European Association of Journalists Hellenic Section (AEJ Greece), where he contributes to safeguarding institutional transparency, accountability, and sound governance. In this role, he supports the reinforcement of ethical standards and trust within journalistic institutions.

In addition, Dimitrios Kannavos is a Founding Member of the International Union of Cretan Journalists and Mass Media. Through this initiative, he works to foster collaboration, professional development, and dialogue among journalists, strengthening both regional and international media networks.
